The Power of Play

In the last decade, brain research has profoundly contributed to the field of child development. We now know that neural pathways are strengthened when young children receive love, attention, and stimulation. We have also learned that play is a powerful tool that encourages interaction, and stimulates growth and development in a myriad of ways. These early experiences shape the initial wiring of the brain, and have decisive, long-lasting effects on how kids develop and learn, how they cope with stress, and how they regulate their emotions.
