High Desert Museum Honors Working Wonders Passes
As of Tuesday October 6th, the High Desert Museum will honor Working Wonders Children’s Museum Golden Tickets for free admission to the Museum until the passes expire at the end of 2009. The High Desert Museum will have the current Golden Ticket information cards at the Admissions Desk and will admit the names currently listed on the cards.
Working Wonders Punch Cards will also be honored for free visits through April 2010.
No other High Desert Museum Member benefits such as discounts for guests, at the café and store will apply. The High Desert Museum is not responsible for missing or incorrect card information. For more information, contact Working Wonders at 541-3889-4500 ext.10.

Working Wonders Children’s Museum Suspends Operations
This news is very difficult for me to write. As of this morning, the board of Working Wonders made the decision to close the museum as we were not able to meet our fundraising goals. We have been especially hit hard in this economy. Despite creating a new model of sustainability for revenue, we simply did not have the funds to implement our plan. We are able to close our doors in a fiscally responsible manner paying our staff and honoring our current partnership agreements. The board of directors will remain intact for a period of time to manage related business operations.
We are extremely grateful for your recent support and for your support over the last 5 years. We have cherished memories of you and your children. We have created partnerships and friendships that will stay with us beyond these walls.
We invite you to share in our final 5th birthday celebration from Wednesday, September 30th to Saturday, October 3rd in the museum. We have scheduled special activities and encourage everyone to participate in the festivities. If you have a punch card or Golden Ticket, please invite your friends and family in with you next week. Remember, as usual we are closed Monday and Tuesday.

You may have heard that Working Wonders has embarked on a fundraising appeal for the month of August and September. For the last four years we have successfully raised up to 60% of our operating budget, or $200,000 (through exhibit sponsorships, donations, grants, and events).
